Description
The overall scope of the Assistant Director of Marketing is to promote Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah hotel and its outlets as the market leader through marketing activities as well as to ensure compliance with the brand Kempinski.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing activities are created, planned, coordinated and implemented.
- Kempinski Brand is protected and awareness of the brand is enhanced.
- Pro-actively promote rooms, food and beverage outlets, conference and events, or any other activity with potential to drive revenue
- Plan and create promotions and packages together with the relevant departments, i.e. F&B, Revenue, Spa etc…and incorporate a multi-channel approach to all activities
- Conduct competition analysis on a regular basis and review positioning of key revenue driving areas
- Understand market trends and target customer in order to develop appropriate campaigns and maximize revenues
- Liaise with relevant agencies to deliver campaigns (Marketing, PR, Creative, Brand)
- Finalise and manage marketing budget keeping track of actual versus planned marketing budgets and providing input and recommendations as needed regarding reallocation of funding.
- Responsible for overseeing development of content for both offline and online activities.
- Be able to create the hotel media and marketing plan.
- Determine overall marketing campaign ROI. Monitor and review the response rates in order to improve and take corrective measures (where applicable).
- Create and implement all Marketing activities, including but not limited to: Creation and print of collateral, Promotions and packages , Advertising, Market analysis and Photo-shootings
- Plan, coordinate and implement direct marketing, both on- and offline.
- Maintain guest database for mailings.
- Regularly review hotel information on the intranet, kempinski.com, GHA and other third party websites to ensure it is up to date and relevant.
- Develop annual plan of all content needs across all channels including brand website, GHA, KENT newsletter, social media sites.
- Plan and supervise photo shoots developing shot list while keeping goals of the property and brand image in mind.
- Create, coordinate and maintain give-aways and collateral.
- Ensure picture storage and distribution systems are maintained
- Provide content and images for websites according to Corporate Identity.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Identity guidelines.
- Ensure all creatives are reviewed and approved by both General Manager and Corporate Marketing in a timely manner before the advertising agency or printer proceeds.
- Attend to and deliver all requirements of Corporate Marketing within the given deadlines.
- Coordinate between the hotel and Corporate Marketing and agencies whenever necessary.
- Maintain updates of Corporate Marketing guidelines and inform colleagues.
- Bring ideas and participate in the preparations of the promotional theme events, other promotional activities and invitation lists.
- Lead the monthly marketing meeting to discuss future campaigns to drive performance
- Proactively promote Rooms, Food and Beverage including Banquet/Conferences, or any other current or forthcoming activities which lead to potential sources of business.
- Contribute to my.kempinski to share best Marketing practices, the best practices can be collateral, successful promotions, outlet launches etc, this provides a channel for inter-hotel learning and also creates motivation.
- Conduct competition checks, benchmarking and follow up on market trends on a regular basis.
- Keep up to date with Marketing trends and tools to enhance the continual learning process and make recommendations to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Follow the sales and marketing results and propose corrective actions if needed.
- Take part in sales and marketing training programmes.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in the hotel including all activities, promotions, rates of the hotel.
- Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Preferably in an international, luxury five-star hotel
- English - excellent communication skills
