The Role

This exciting Permanent Full Time opportunity is ideal for a driver and self-motivated People and Culture Engagement Officer to play a pivotal role in driving high standards of employee engagement and therefore enhance "customer service" within our largest government education cleaning contract in the Pacific. The role plays a crucial role in fostering relationships between ISS placemakers (cleaners) and their management team.  This role will be based from our Milperra (Sydney office), with travel required across the greater Sydney area (south of Sydney Harbour) and up the North Coast (Tea Gardens to the QLD border).

 

This role would require you to have a vehicle and we are looking for someone to start ASAP.

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role will also have close working relationships with our People and Culture Team, our Trainers, internal Talent team and the operations team indicated above (KAM, CSM, CSS).

 

Position Overview

This position requires a high level of cultural competency and experience working with key stake holders. Key responsibilities include:

• Trusted Advisor: Responsible for acting as a trusted adviser to operational leaders (KAM’s, CSS’, CSM’s) 
• Relationship Management: The position delivers value-added service by concentrating on developing relationships with CSS’ and CSM’s to ensure new hires are onboarded into ISS in the right way and provided the tools and equipment (including schedule) to sustain long term employment
• Administration Support, Monitoring and Reporting: Provide administration support with employee relations including grievances & disciplinary matters and coaching of CSS’ and CSM’s to ensure early intervention
• Capability Building: Provide routine capability building of CSS’ and CSM’s to guide effective people management processes

 

Day to Day duties will cover the below:

• Act as day-to-day support partner and trusted advisor for the contract operations team
• Help CSS’ and CSM’s to recognise different P&C related development needs.
• Manage an employee lifecycle framework that supports a high performance culture with focus on attracting, retaining and developing talent. 
• Support building capability to improve people management skills within operations.
• Ensure new hires are equipped with the right tools, equipment, schedule and technology to succeed with their employment journey with ISS.

Skills, Competencies & Knowledge

• Experience within managing and resolving employee relations issues
• Being able to conduct effective, thorough and objective workplace investigations.
• Experienced change agent with exceptional communication skills
• A process driven mindset with experience in design and implementation of core HR processes
• Experience in high turnover environment and supporting a large-scale dynamic workforce
• Extremely high integrity with a customer centric approach. Driven and self motivated.
• Successful candidate will require their own reliable vehicle and valid drivers licence.

 

This role requires the ability to pass a NSW Working With Children Check and a specific NSW Police check.
