Job Description

In this 12-month fixed term position, you will be part of the Epworth Medical Oncology clinical trials unit, a dynamic team dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of patients with solid tumour cancers. Reporting to the Clinical Research Nurse Team Leader you will work with a close-knit team and be responsible for coordinating study activities including set-up, ethics and governance applications, sample management and processing, document management and close out.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing overall support for both industry sponsored and investigator-initiated research activities, including preparation of ethics and applications, relating to Medical Oncology
  • Coordination and processing of laboratory specimens including collection, receipt and storage of viable patient samples in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, Good Laboratory Practice and other relevant guidelines
  • Maintaining a high standard of study documentation, records and data for concurrent studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and other relevant guidelines
  • Working collaboratively within a Multidisciplinary team, building quality relationships within Epworth, our participants and other key stakeholders including clinicians, investigators, sponsors, donors, and granting bodies

To be successful in this role…

You will have laboratory experience in handling, documenting, processing and shipping specimens. Flexible and agile in your approach, you are eager and have a willingness to learn and contribute to the team, the ability to work effectively as a team member and confidence in working autonomously. You are an effective communicator able to develop strong relationships with colleagues, our participants, study sponsors and third-party contractors and other stakeholders.

You will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Health or Science
  • Previous laboratory and clinical research experience
  • Solid understanding of the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
