To strengthen our Research & Development Team, based in Nivelles, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Junior Market Analyst - Water (VIE).
About the role
In the water and sludge market of Lhoist, specialty products are a key component of the sales revenue, and this requires a service-oriented business approach with a strong focus on advanced technical support. As such, active generation of high-quality technical knowhow, effective transfer of knowledge both within the business units and with the customers and an innovative approach to product / application development are key in this market segment. The Water and Sludge Application Team at Lhoist Business Innovation Centre (BIC) is looking for a Junior Market Analyst / NBD Field Trial Specialist to support the conversion of ideas and projects into business for Lhoist. The focus is to quantify, assess and support customer-centric business development opportunities and to accelerate Lhoist growth in Europe, and particularly in France and BNL.
As a Junior Market Analyst (VIE), you will be responsible for performing market research and intelligence in collaboration with the BIC and regional market experts, identifying opportunities for improvement of product positioning and branding, and supporting the success of field trials with onsite analytical measurements and data collection.
Your role and responsibilities:
Support field trials on strategic projects with a focus on developing the industrial wastewater treatment market in Lhoist France and Lhoist BNL
Investigate business opportunities related to:
Industrial wastewater
Sludge treatment and processing (focus on French sludge management trends, including
nutrient recovery and circular economy initiatives)
Contribute to market intelligence initiatives including management of existing & new databases
Support water-related communication activities.
About you:
You hold a master’s degree in Chemical, Environmental engineering or related field.
No prior work experience is required. 1 year of work experience is a plus.
Driver’s license and willingness to drive for work assignments
Enjoy working in a dynamic environment, establish collaborative relationships with people.
Organized with strong time and project management skills.
Knowledge of water treatment market and sub-segments.
Basic knowledge of minerals and mineral processing (can be educated)
Ability to perform lab / field analysis on industrial wastewater samples (can be educated)
Understanding of business and marketing concepts or technical sales experience, ability to develop generic promotion tools within the application.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of MS Excel, Data analysis and management.
Full professional proficiency in English and French is must.
