The Data Protection Advisor position is pivotal as a consultancy role through Keystone Solutions, where the successful candidate will support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices at our client site. This role requires advising on data protection policies, monitoring compliance, and fostering a culture of data privacy by facilitating specific projects.
The candidate should be a mid-range professional with experience in providing project data protection advice.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Monitoring: As a Keystone Solutions consultant, assist the DPO in monitoring compliance with data protection laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Policy Development: Support the creation, implementation, and review of data protection policies and procedures in response to evolving requirements.
Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of data protection requirements among staff at the client site.
Risk Assessment: Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) to identify and mitigate risks related to personal data processing. This includes drafting all applicable privacy assessments such as Balancing Tests, Transfer Impact Assessments, transparency documentation, and consent wording.
Incident Management: Assist in managing data protection incidents, including data breaches, and ensure appropriate reporting and resolution as a part of the consultancy project.
Advisory Role: Provide expert advice to various departments on data protection matters, ensuring that all projects and initiatives comply with relevant regulations.
Auditing: Support and participate in internal audits to assess the effectiveness of data protection measures and recommend improvements.
Documentation: Assist the client in maintaining accurate records of data processing activities and ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, or a relevant field. A professional certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, DPO certification) is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or compliance roles.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GDPR, other relevant data protection regulations, and technology such as AI and PETs.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues and provide practical solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in all aspects of work.

Reporting Structure:
