The Role

The OpenTable Research Operations team is seeking a diligent and proactive Research Operations Specialist to join us on a contract basis. This role is critical in enabling our teams to conduct democratized research with the right participants efficiently and effectively, ensuring a high-quality experience for both our internal collaborators and research participants.

You will be primarily responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process for both B2B (restaurant partners) and B2C (diners) research studies. Beyond recruitment, you'll support and collaborate closely with the Research Operations team to enhance our operational systems, processes, and tools, contributing to the overall efficiency and impact of the UX research practice at OpenTable.

This role will help our teams conduct research and cultivate insights that meaningfully impact diners and restaurants around the world.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in B2B and B2C participant recruitment, or similar role within a research operations, UX research, or market research
     

  • Proven experience recruiting diverse participants for research, including managing complex B2B recruitment (e.g., specific roles, industries) and B2C recruitment. You understand various sourcing methods and how to reach niche audiences
     

  • You possess exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to triage and manage multiple recruitment projects in a timely manner
     

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with potential participants and internal collaborators
     

  • Problem solver, with the ability to work autonomously, and a strong commitment to ensuring our teams are successful in achieving their research objectives
     

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English

 

Responsibilities

  • You successfully recruit, schedule, and issue incentives to research participants on a regular basis, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • You’ll collaborate ‘people who do research’ (PWDRs) to advise and deliver quality recruitment practices that meet their research objectives within recruitment constraints, including helping shape their recruitment parameters and screeners for qualitative and quantitative studies

  • You steward healthy database management practices for an internal panel of B2B and B2C research participants, and have experience working with PMs, Product Analytics, and/or Engineers to help you pull recruitment lists

  • You demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, including strategies to increase research participant response rates

  • You uphold and advocate for ethical research practices, including PII data privacy, participant consent, and data governance standards to ensure users have a positive experience participating in OpenTable research studies

  • You help maintain internal documentation and resources related to research operations standard methodologies

  • You work with internal teams to drive forward small, tightly scoped Research Ops projects or improvements to enhance our systems, processes, and tools.

  • You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpretation skills, and proactively raise challenges and opportunities with the research operations team 

  • You have the ability to see the big picture, while also being highly thorough and product-focused

What else would make you stand out?

  • Experience conducting UX research or a strong foundational understanding of various research methodologies

  • Experience with participant recruitment in a democratized research function

  • Experience with GSuite, Gemini, Salesforce, Preset, Maze, or Rally (or another CRM / panel management system)

  • Experience writing SQL queries for the purpose of pulling recruitment lists

  • Written proficiency, or fluent, in Spanish or French

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this Canada located role is $22-$65/hour CAD.

This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.
