Job Details

  • Collects on accounts in assigned portfolio.
  • Assists associates within Credit and Collections department with problems on accounts.
  • Trains other associates within Credit and Collections department.
  • Communicates with other departments regarding process improvements.
  • Approves and processes customer refund check requests which are submitted by levels I and II Credit and Collection Clerks and under a pre-determined amount.
  • Approves payment of collection expenses to outside collection agencies, based on bills and payments received.
  • Approves credit applications, up to a pre-determined credit limit, for applicants with D&B scores 1, 2 or 3.
  • Assists in credit application approval, up to a pre-determined credit limit, or denial for applicants with D&B scores 4 or 5.
  • Assists management in customer problem resolution and participates in decision-making.
  • Approves payment arrangements requested by customers that go beyond the 3-month company guideline within a predetermined amount and term.
  • Interacts with external credit agencies to provide information regarding customer credit.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a two-year associate's degree program, technical vocational training or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum two (2) to four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good organizational skills Ability to lead dynamically and energize multidiscipline work teams to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve associate issues effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook, PNC, Getpaid, and Crystal.
  • Knowledge of office equipment, i.e., be able to operate Label Maker, printer and fax machine
