About the role 

We are looking for our new passionate and experienced Product Owner to help take our data platform to the next level. This is a newly established role, created to strengthen our strategic focus on data as a core enabler of digital transformation.

As a large organization with an expanding ecosystem of production systems, our data platform plays a vital role in exposing data and insights across the business. The data platform is a vital strategic enabler to reach our digitization strategy.
With more teams engaging in data production and consumption, the need for dedicated product leadership has become essential. The increasing complexity and scale of data usage across teams has created a clear need for dedicated product leadership to guide the platform’s continued growth.

At DFDS, we employ a data mesh approach, empowering data producers to take ownership of their data while ensuring it is robust, reliable, and accessible. The data platform is a key component for our journey to liberate data and enable the digital transformation of our company — and as our first Product Owner in this area, you will play a key role in shaping its future, driving adoption, and maximizing its value across the organization.

When you join us, you will:

• Own the vision and roadmap for the platform that enables the high-potential areas defined and prioritized as part of the digitalization strategy

• Define and execute on long-term objectives in alignment with key stakeholders

• Set ambitious yet achievable objectives and KPIs for the team, ensuring successful delivery

• Work closely with product teams to improve their user experience while aligning initiatives with our strategic goals

• Work closely with our domain data architect to champion our data as a product mentality and increase overall data availability and consumption

• Own the product backlog, i.e., build and prioritize backlog items and coordinate with other teams and Product Owners on shared deliveries

• Ensure the successful launch and adoption of new functionality

• Empower the team to be self-driven, efficient and succeed together

About you

As a Product Owner, you will have the opportunity to shape how we enable the digital transformation of DFDS through enabling data driven use cases and decision making. To help us achieve this we are looking for someone who has the following qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Product Owner, with a proven track record of successfully delivering data platform (or similar) capabilities and driving high stakeholder involvement

• Experience working in agile and cross-functional teams in an enterprise organization with cloud technologies

• Understanding of cloud technology and proficiency in modern data platform development.

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• As a person, you are curious about new cloud technologies, and you can engage with various stakeholders like engineers and architects in a constructive and collaborative way
