The role of Lead -  Product Compliance

The Lead - Product Compliance role is responsible for ensuring the Technology Services & Engineering’s (TSE’s) products and services are compliant with regard to all relevant requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for delivering Maersk’s core infrastructure products and will coordinate across the team to develop, deliver, and oversee a product compliance program directly imbedded throughout our product lifecycle. You will form relationships with our product and engineering teams to ensure compliance is part of our product roadmaps and feature work, while balancing these requirements with the internal needs of the organization and business risk decisions.

In addition, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering against Group Internal Audit findings impacting areas within TSE’s remit – ultimately evolving our approach from responding to audit findings to proactively tackling items before there are flagged by the GIA team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and drive end to end product compliance program: defining program goals and requirements, structure, as well as governance that integrates into existing ways of working
  • Collaborate to define the compliance requirements applicable to the infrastructure products and services across the portfolio
  • Develop a deep understanding of the current state of product compliance across the portfolio
  • Balance business needs vs business risk vs return on investment
  • Manage the prioritization of the compliance workstreams
  • Work across Technology and broader Maersk to understand and own compliance requirements as they develop over time.
  • Act as a key liaison between TSE leadership, Data/AI Governance, and Group Internal Audit

Key Skills

  • 8-12 years of experience in technology compliance and/or audit response
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with and influencing across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to deconstruct information into smaller categories to draw conclusions and leverage complex data to support decision making
  • Experience developing and overseeing product compliance programs and audit response in enterprise technology environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to diverse types of stakeholders (leadership, engineering teams, internal development teams)
  • Deep understanding of compliance frameworks, requirements, and best practices
  • Experience with making and justifying decisions in an enterprise environment.

Additional Competencies

  • Natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more, which you use to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth.
  • Bias to action, being familiar with methods and approaches needed to get things done in a collaborative, lean and fast-moving environment.
  • Respond effectively to complex and ambiguous problems and situations.
  • Lead mostly with questions rather than opinions, thriving on the opportunity to own, innovate, create, and constantly re-evaluate.
  • Comfortable making recommendations across competing and equally critical business needs.
  • Simplify, clearly and succinctly convey complex information and ideas to individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with the enthusiasm and drive to motivate your team and the wider organization.
