Role

We are looking for a Retail Development Manager Spain to play a pivotal role in the growth, management, and operational excellence of our retail facilities across the region. This is an exciting opportunity to build our retail portfolio from the ground up and take on a variety of tasks. If you're a strategic thinker with expertise in operations, relationship-building, and revenue generation, this is the role for you.

You will lead Fastned’s retail strategy in Spain, focusing on establishing partnerships with international and local retailers. As the primary retail contact you’ll shape and standardise retail environments that reflect Fastned’s brand. Managing the operational aspects of our facilities will be essential, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance.

You will also oversee sourcing and managing retail partners to ensure smooth operations, while developing strategies to drive sales and revenue growth. Collaboration with local operators will be key to implementing performance improvements. Additionally, you will manage relationships with stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for all retail matters and fostering strong partnerships to ensure alignment with Fastned’s goals. Effective communication between internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders will be crucial to keeping operations running smoothly.

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Retail Development Manager who’s ready to drive growth and shape the future of Fastned’s retail operations in Spain. If you have experience in closing strategic retail partnerships from scratch, a strong background in retail management, are passionate about operational excellence, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this could be the perfect role for you. You’ll bring your strategic mindset, relationship-building skills, and hands-on approach to help us expand and elevate our retail portfolio across the region.

  • 5  years’ +  experience in retail management, with a proven track record of building long term relationship with retailers, delivering retail standards and driving revenue
  • Have an existing network of stakeholders in the retail sector
  • Ability to build from the ground up Fastned’s network of retail partners highly synergetic with its core business
  • An ability to think long-term and align retail offerings with Fastned’s mission and local customer needs
  • An excellent communicator and relationship builder with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to managing operational challenges and reporting issues
  • A resourceful and adaptable individual who effortlessly manages multiple priorities and projects
  • Spanish and English speaker

Additional advantage for a candidate:

  • Experience in managing franchise or dealer relations, including contract negotiation and upholding operational standards.
  • Expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts with retail partners.
  • Track record in building and maintaining business collaborations in the retail sector. Expertise in strategic negotiations with major retailers and suppliers.
