Making your impact
To manage a team of skilled resident engineers to consistently and successfully deliver contractual KPI’s on time and within budget.
To mentor, guide, monitor and develop the team in a way that promotes Dematic values and behaviours whilst supporting the requirements and activities of our customers to deliver in full, on time, every time.
Recognise the customers values and what is critical to quality in order for the customer to succeed and provide an environment and framework of service excellence in which these targets can be achieved.
To successfully manage talent including review, development and succession to fulfil both customer and Dematic requirements .
Compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Dematic H&S policies at all times
Create the site Health & Safety plan and foster a positive H&S culture on site ensuring that it is maintained and adhered to alongside the rest of the site team
Ensure full utilization of DMMS for all Safety Critical Maintenance, accurate spares management and scheduled maintenance
Promote and enforce proven H&S principles and practices(near-miss reporting, audits, safety tours etc)
Deliver budget and demonstrate cost control within contractual guidelines
Prioritise and plan AMHE repairs in line with customer business needs
Maintain all relevant service records and ensure they are readily available
Work with your team to prioritise system faults to minimise impact to the customer’s business
Customer management for legislative requirements of maintenance under, but not restricted to PUWER and LOLER - Management and Control of obsolescence on site
Promote, support and propagate the standardisation/harmonisation of maintenance practices within the NE Region - Knowledge of relevant industry standards to the site i.e. EN258 - Maintain compliance to key CE Directives and standards ensuring all changes are channelled through the correct business department(s) Continuous Improvement
Define, support and lead LEAN projects seeking efficiency in all business processes, removing non value added steps and waste - Establish “what” is Critical to Quality (CTQ’s) for customer success and to enable the Dematic approach of total customer focus
Identify where variation in processes exist and reduce through auditing/coaching/mentoring to managing the shift team in day-to-day activities.
To lead from the front and manage customer expectations
To provide an escalation path for both your customer and the team
Adopt and promote a continuous improvement mentality on site
Contributing to the team
HNC/HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Degree preferred)
IOSH managing safely/NEBOSH (desirable)
Experience in previously managing a team (essential - min 5 years in similar role)
Level 5 qualifications in people management (desirable)
Lean/Six-sigma qualification (desirable)
Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
Understanding of control systems and problem solving techniques
Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems/automation environment
Excellent level of PC literacy
Outstanding communication skills
Understanding of preventive maintenance (PPM) principles and adept in using CMMS software
Experience and understanding of budgets P&L management
Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
