Role Overview



We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer who will also serve as our go-to expert for PostgreSQL and Aurora RDS. This is a Core Engineering role focused on backend development, database performance, and improving our data access layer.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build high-scale backend services using TypeScript and NestJS.
• Monitor and optimize our Aurora RDS (PostgreSQL) clusters for performance and reliability.
• Own and improve our internal TypeORM fork (bug fixes, performance enhancements).
• Collaborate with developers on schema design, complex queries, and indexing strategies.
• Coordinate DB-related CI/CD tasks such as migrations and integration testing.
• Implement best practices for SQL tuning, monitoring, and high-availability setups.
• Contribute to product features, especially those reliant on large-scale data access patterns.

You Bring

• Solid backend development experience (TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS).
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and Aurora RDS internals.
• Experience with TypeORM and understanding of its internals or extending ORMs.
• Strong skills in SQL performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP).
• Bonus: Kafka, K8s, CI workflows (GitHub Actions).
