postdoctoral researcher - The Foundations of Attention Management & its Applications for Health and Sustainability in Marketing

The Department of Business and Economics at Reykjavik University is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the project “The Foundations of Attention Management & its Applications for Health and Sustainability in Marketing”, a collaborative project between Reykjavik University and Aarhus University.

The research

The goal of the project is to gain a better understanding of consumer visual attention and inattention and how it is influenced by motivation and environement. Particularly, we want to understand why consumers sometimes pay attention to relevant information about health or sustainability while on other occasions they try to avoid such information. We plan to use eye tracking and online studies to investigate consumer attention processes. The long-term goal is to develop a framework for understanding and guiding consumer attention to important information about health and sustainability to the benefit of consumer wellbeing and society. The project is a collaboration between Project Leader Prof. Valdimar Sigurdsson (Reykjavik University) and Principal Investigator Prof. Jacob L. Orquin (Aarhus University).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with good communication skills to join our research team. The postdoctoral fellow should have
