Job Description

This is a technical role in a manufacturing engineering organization responsible for High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) of Solidigm SSD products for Data Center commercial customers. The candidate would be performing manufacturing activities on SSD products sustaining and optimizing the manufacturing of multiple SSD’s working with product development engineers, New Product Introduction (NPI) engineers, other Solidigm multidiscipline engineers, different suppliers, and ODM engineers/technicians.

The individual in this role will be:

  • Collaborating with New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing engineers on manufacturability studies during late stages of NPI to ensure the manufacturing process of a product has high throughput, high quality manufacturing, and optimal manufacturing cost in HVM.
  • Safeguarding the manufacturing recipe and HVM product quality of all products.
  • Supporting continuous quality, cost, and process optimization of the HVM SSD manufacturing process following standard change notification protocols.
  • Leading and managing product quality excursions and their respective resolutions in collaboration with technical program managers, quality engineers, and other multidiscipline engineers to sustain HVM on time and on quality with relatively minimal cost impact.
  • Ensuring ODM is following appropriate SPC control processes.
  • Managing the non-consigned ODM equipment
  • Processing and approving expired and open-market materials before reintroducing them in HVM
  • Collaborating with internal/external partners and global ODMs ensuring all factories follow the same processes and produce the same high-quality products with similar yields.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience with manufacturing of electronics devices.
  • Basic understanding of product architecture, product development, system design, NPI, and development methods
  • Basic understanding of PCB manufacturing, mechanical parts design and respective manufacturing technologies (casting, stamping, etc.)
  • Fundamental understanding of manufacturing flow, SMT, PCB reflow, assembly sequence, assembly principles, Design of Experiment (DoE), SPC, statistics, tolerance analysis, etc.
  • Experience in setting-up schedules for executing multiple tasks and projects on time.
  • Strong technical background in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
  • CAD proficiency in CAD packages like AutoCAD, Solidworks, or other

Education

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent degree or experience required.
  • MS is a plus
