Data Scientist

We are expanding our data science capabilities and are looking for a colleague to strengthen Nationale Nederlanden Inkomen Collectief and HCS. You will be part of the data science guild of Nationale Nederlanden and work full-time for HCS. HCS is one of the subsidiaries of Nationale Nederlanden.

HCS is the service provider for working Netherlands, offering services in the areas of sustainable employability, absenteeism, social security, and training & secondment. With approximately 500 employees, HCS provides professional and personal support to employers, employees, advisors, and insurers. We combine the latest technology, data, and specialized knowledge into smart solutions. With our services, we help employers achieve more returns and make employees more productive and employable. What you are going to do

With your solution-oriented and proactive attitude, you will translate business problems into data science solutions. With your knowledge of Python, statistics, machine learning, and especially generative AI, you can turn any data source into insights for our internal customers.

Specifically, you will bring AI solutions to production so that your solutions create real value for our company of tomorrow. Researching and applying new technology plays an important role. You will use state-of-the-art techniques such as AI-as-a-service and LLMs, like Azure Cognitive Services and OpenAI. You understand how to help business colleagues translate their needs into AI solutions, and you enjoy presenting your solutions to internal customers and helping them adopt AI.

Who you are

You are result-oriented and enjoy delivering code projects for the business, but you especially see value in the further adoption of our AI solutions. Your open attitude and strong communication skills greatly help with this. Additionally, you have:

• A completed university education with a master’s degree in Computer Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, or another STEM-related study
• Experience in developing ML applications in Python, preferably also with Generative AI such as LLMs
• Practical knowledge of the data science process, such as data collection, cleaning, model evaluation, and model implementation, preferably experience with developing (Flask) APIs
• A plus if you have experience developing automated cloud solutions using (Azure) CI/CD tools, Git, and Terraform
• A plus if you have experience designing AI solutions or applications based on business requirements
• Good command of the Dutch language

Who you will work with

The team you work with on a daily basis consists of HCS colleagues with a passion for data & AI, combined with representatives from the business. Together with occupational physicians, doctors, practice assistants, case managers, and data specialists, you work on practical applications that make our processes more customer-friendly and efficient. Fellow data scientists working at Inkomen Collectief will be your point of contact and sparring partner for data science issues.

Additionally, you are a member of the data science guild of Nationale Nederlanden, where approximately 40 data scientists from across the organization meet. Here, you exchange knowledge and experiences with peers. We believe that every data scientist can learn something from peers and vice versa can teach others in the guild. This way, you accelerate your career and deliver maximum value with our AI solutions.
