STA – CMA Governance

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated professional to assist the CMA Governance Lead in establishing the CMA Client Control Unit for a duration of up to 12 months. The CMA Client Control Unit ensures continuous regulatory compliance while enhancing both business and client experiences. This dedicated, centralized department oversees control activities for all CMA clients and counterparties.  

 

Globally, the CMA Client Control Unit is responsible for: 

  • On-boarding and off-boarding CMA Mono Product Clients (MPC) 
  • On-boarding products for all CMA clients in accordance with regulations
  • Continuous monitoring of CMA clients and related deals to ensure compliance with international and national non-prudential regulations 

 

This STA will focus on two key areas: 

Business & Control Framework Review 

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of applicable business regulations, mostly Financial Economic Crime risk (Know Your Customer - Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Office Due Diligence (ODD)) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks. 
  • Assess the current control environment and execution of key controls based on defined testing procedures and report on deficiencies. 

 

Design of the CMA Client Control Unit 

 

The objective is to design and implement a structured and automatised control framework, covering everything from regulation analysis to control execution and reporting, including: 

  • Understand the complete design of a control unit, including  governance and data aspects like  data flow analysis, documentation, and automation.
  • Identify which control activities should be centralised and automated. 
  • Translate regulatory requirements into operational controls based on rules and data points.

  • Understand key regulatory challenges and design controls to reduce risks. 
  • Focus on risks and provide credible challenges. 
  • Learn quickly and execute tasks effectively, gaining expertise in relevant areas.
  • Have hands-on experience with data flow analysis, automation, and implementing control frameworks. 
  • Be able to analyse complex data environments. 
  • Work independently and collaborate with various stakeholders. 
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English, with good drafting skills.
