Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - Administrator to join Te Kura Matai Hinengaro - the School of Psychological Sciences on a fixed-term, full-time contract starting as soon as possible until September 2026.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination and administration support for the School’s Masters and PhD students. 
  • Support finance and HR activities within the school. E.g. preparing and administering short term contracts, processing and generating monthly invoices.
  • Provide professional administration support, including event support.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a customer-oriented individual who takes initiative and pays close attention to detail. Success in this role requires excellent deadline management, self-discipline, and strong teamwork skills.

Key requirements:

  • Proven excellence in customer service and office administration, providing administrative services in a busy office.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a consistently high level of clarity and accuracy evident in all written material produced.
  • An intermediate to advanced level of ability in Microsoft applications
  • Technical competence in using systems and applications to a high standard of accuracy
  • Proven ability working to deadlines
  • Experience working in a high-performance team
