Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a responsible, experienced, and reliable driver to join the Hato Hone St John Retail team, delivering pre-loved goods within Auckland and helping to fund our essential, lifesaving services and community initiatives. You will be working from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week.

As a store driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and safe movement of stock between locations to support store activities and sales. You will maintain the organisation and cleanliness of the storeroom and van, identify any items unsuitable for sale in conjunction with the Store Managers, and arrange for repairs or disposal in accordance with responsible waste disposal methods.

This role can be based in either Howick or Onehunga store and involves traveling within Auckland to support the transfer and delivery of furniture and other heavy items.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A full, clean, New Zealand driver's licence
  • A good level of physical fitness, be able to lift and move big furniture 
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Flexibility and a willingness to do what is needed to fulfill the role's requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Experience and or training in testing and tagging electrical equipment – an advantage but not essential
