Join us as a Qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic in the Timaru Workshop!  

We require the services of another experienced heavy diesel mechanic to join our friendly Timaru team. We have a comprehensive heavy vehicle workshop at our Timaru yard which provides mechanical services for our plant and equipment. In this role, you will complete mechanical activities to help deliver work for our customers safely, on time and to the highest quality standard.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Complete servicing, repairs, and maintenance on various plant
  • Accurately follow correct repair procedures.
  • Ensure high risk situations for mechanics are identified without error and ways of reducing that risk are identified correctly.

We’re looking for someone with:  

  • Relevant Trade Qualification
  • Class 2 Drivers licence is essential
  • A commitment to doing a quality job safely
  • A solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Experience in repairing heavy plant and contracting equipment
  • A proactive approach to plant maintenance
  • The ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
  • Appropriate licences for heavy trucks, construction equipment and forklift
  • A positive attitude and friendly manner
