About this opportunity

The Production Supervisor will work as part of the operational team providing leadership and support to the team to ensure the efficient running of production, ensuring the process has the capability to meet all facets of the customer’s requirements in a manner that does not compromise the health and safety of the team members.  Take full responsibility for output quality, volume and timeliness from all machines during the shift.  Have ownership for all applicable inventory.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure all H&S policies are observed, fostering a culture of responsibility and awareness among employees.
  • Adhere to and uphold all quality standards and processes throughout the production facility.
  • Guide, coach, and support the production team to achieve optimal performance.
  • Ensure work centres are ready as per the manufacturing plan and maximize machine output through proper setup.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee production inventory according to BOM allocation, meet production requirements (Temuka supply, mainline supply, external), and achieve key operating metrics like DIFOT and quality.

Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Team leadership, excellent communicator, and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing/production exposure, mechanical training, and manual skills.
  • Focus on health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and capable of implementing manual inventory systems when electronic management is unavailable.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with a positive attitude and a valid driver's license.

Desirable:

  • Experience with MRP system/preferably SAP
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Forklift licence
