Mō te whai waahi | About the opportunity

Due to internal promotion we're seeking a Management Accountant to join our team in a full time, permanent role, working 80 hours per fortnight at our Christchurch Support Office.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting different departments of the business to make the right economic decisions by understanding their financial performance and the areas they support. You will be applying best practice financial disciplines and contributing to the accurate and timely preparation of the group management reports.

You'll concentrate on:

  • Maintaining strong working relationships across the business with senior finance and operational management (understand their respective areas and assist with producing and presenting of financial information including monthly reporting).
  • Completing general ledger reconciliations, journal entries and undertake general ledger analysis.
  • Taking a lead role in the preparation of annual budgets with senior finance and operational management for their respective departments, forecasting financial performance using financial modelling techniques and understanding the economic environment.
  • Providing financial reporting to management and assist in the preparation of business cases for projects.

Mōhou ake | About you

We're looking for an experienced Management Accountant, ideally a qualified CA. It would be an advantage to have an auditing background with exposure to a broad range of industries.

Essential:

  • Relevant accounting qualification
  • CA qualified or equivalent
  • Commercial experience working with financial modelling and management to analyse and present data
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Flexible and adaptable
