In this high-impact role, you will apply your expertise in digital reporting and analytics to enable strategic decision-making across Moderna’s mRNA portfolio. As a key individual contributor, you will drive insights that shape study, project, and program-level decisions by partnering cross-functionally with internal stakeholders. This role will require a blend of technical data skills, business acumen, and storytelling through visualization, and it represents a unique opportunity to help shape the direction of Moderna’s portfolio with cutting-edge tools and global visibility.

You will work with modern analytics platforms and languages to deliver scalable, robust dashboards and reporting logic that serve as the foundation for trade-off decisions and strategic prioritization. Your work will not only support present portfolio activities but also lay the groundwork for future digital capabilities, positioning you at the intersection of data and decision-making within one of the most innovative biotech organizations in the world.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and deliver data analytics and insight products that guide decision-making across Moderna’s mRNA portfolio.
  • Build and maintain scalable dashboards and reporting platforms to enable timely, data-driven choices.
  • Utilize advanced tools including Tableau (Prep), Spotfire, Shiny, and Smartsheet for visualization and analysis.
  • Code in Python, R, and SQL to build analytics pipelines and ensure robust data operations.
  • Manage access control, permissions, and usage tracking for portfolio reporting systems.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Translate complex data into actionable, strategic insights in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Validate reporting logic and ensure data reliability through testing of filters, metrics, and data connections.
  • Facilitate workshops that drive strategic roadmapping, prioritization, and capability planning initiatives.
  • Execute and lead high-impact projects independently, requiring minimal oversight and maximum cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support additional portfolio analytics duties as assigned.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in life and/or computer science disciplines
  • 6+ years of experience in data or analytics roles, preferably in biopharma or consulting
  • Proficiency with project planning tools such as Smartsheet or MS Project
  • Proficiency with Tableau (Prep), Spotfire, and/or Shiny
  • Experience managing access, permissions, and usage reporting systems
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL
  • Ability to manage and analyze complex data and perform data wrangling and modeling
  • Strong skills in dashboard development for strategic decision-making
  • Analytical rigor in validating reporting metrics and logic
  • Track record of leading impactful projects with minimal oversight

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex data to senior stakeholders
  • Versatility and creativity in analytical problem-solving (both EQ and IQ)
  • Strong skills in validating data and reporting metrics
  • Experience gathering and translating business needs into technical solutions
  • Familiarity with documentation of infrastructure and planning systems like Smartsheet
  • Proficiency with large datasets and ability to extract insights
  • Experience implementing automation to improve reporting efficiency
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-changing environments
  • Experience leading change management efforts, including training and communications
  • Commitment to understanding Moderna’s platform and biotech landscape
  • Proactive and collaborative working style aligned with a high-growth organization
  • Experience building forecasts and models using advanced analytics techniques
