Join us as a Front-end Developer

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Front-end Developer to join our Data Transformation Technology team. In this role you will be responsible for design and implementation of business-critical low-code/no-code applications that constitute a business process fabric for many BBH’s business teams. This position requires a skilled individual who understands how to effectively use available technologies to support business users and will follow and refine defined architectural patterns.  
 

Desired Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Technology and/or equivalent work experience
  • Core technical skill set includes Javascript, Typescript, HTML, CSS and REST,
  • Minimum of 2 years in a developer position contributing to responsive web design and architecture of distributed systems with React or Angular frameworks.
  • Communication skills conducive to working in an intensely collaborating team
  • Strong technology background, hands-on experience in development
  • Experience in development and problem solving of portals and microportals
  • SQL programming skills
  • Focus on quality (automated testing, continuous integration, refactoring, clean code
  • Excellent communication skills, with oral and written command of English

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, nginx, apache is a plus
  • Ability to operate on prototyped environment with Postman, OpenAPI etc
  • Web application optimization tools and methodologies
  • Experience analysis and creation of complex Oracle queries
  • Familiarity with configuration of Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments
  • Awareness of cyber security and secure software supply chain
  • Comfortable with interpreting and troubleshooting applications using logs and metrics

Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Communicate efficiently within and outside the team
  • Develop application code and automated tests
  • Design and develop distributed computing systems
  • Conduct code reviews for other team members
  • Verify and improve standards and practices for the team
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and contribute to architecture and design discussions
  • Provide technical mentorship to less experienced colleagues
  • Work with testers and business users to identify shortcomings in function, scalability, testability, security and resiliency
  • Foster automation and support building CI/CD pipelines
