Skanderbeg Building

A face takes shape in the balconies of the Skanderbeg Building, also known as Tirana’s Rock. MVRDV’s approximately 85-metre mixed-use tower is designed as a sculptural portrait of Albania’s national hero beside the square that bears his name. Curved balconies form the features while the apartments behind them retain practical internal layouts. The broad outdoor edges also provide shade, connecting the building’s expressive appearance with the everyday experience of living inside.
