The Modernist
The Modernist is a mixed-use development opposite Rotterdam Central Station, forming the final phase of Maarsen Groep’s Weenapoint redevelopment. MVRDV designed two residential towers, approximately 70 and 125 metres high, above a commercial and office base. The programme contains 421 apartments, including 88 owner-occupied homes. A public passage is designed to connect Kruisplein with the courtyard behind the building. Stebru is the main contractor, with completion targeted for the end of 2028.
