Ascension Paysagère
Ascension Paysagère is a completed riverfront development in Rennes by Groupe Giboire, designed by MVRDV with local architects ALL. Two curved buildings step up to a maximum of 12 storeys and contain 138 homes, with commercial spaces at ground level. Terraces and planted outdoor spaces shape the development’s silhouette beside the Vilaine. The developer’s press release records its inauguration on 30 September 2022. Passivhaus certification applies to 34 apartments, rather than the entire residential programme.

Loading sends connection data to OpenFreeMap.Îlot de l’Octroi, between Rue de Lorient and Rue de la Carrière in western central Rennes, beside the Vilaine and opposite Jardin de la Confluence. The marker uses the named northern Ascension Paysagère building in OpenStreetMap, cross-checked against the developer’s published street entrances. The second residential block lies immediately to its south.

Progress & timeline
Completed. Groupe Giboire’s press release dated 30 September 2022 documents the inauguration. It states that handovers began in December 2021 and were scheduled to finish in October 2022; that final month was an announced schedule in the release. MVRDV’s current project record labels the scheme “Realised”, with a 2016–2022 project period. No current apartment availability is implied.
