Project Manager – SAP Public Cloud (M/F)
Mercan is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager specialized in SAP Public Cloud to coordinate the implementation and optimization of diverse SAP modules in our Portuguese business units and companies. This position requires a robust understanding of financial processes and deep expertise in managing mid-scale ERP implementations, specifically within SAP Public Cloud (Financial Core Modules), SAP consolidation, SAP Procurement, SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the full project lifecycle of SAP Public Cloud implementation from initiation through deployment, stabilization, and transition to ongoing support.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, facilitating alignment between Finance, HR, IT, Operations, and external implementation partners.
- Manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Act as the primary contact point between Mercan Properties and SAP implementation firm.
- Oversee integration projects, specifically ensuring seamless connectivity between SAP modules and external systems (Oracle Opera PMS, Oracle Simphony POS, Innux time attendance system, Team Tailor, Salesforce Sales and Marketing Clouds)
- Regularly report project status, risks, and issues to the Steering Committee, providing transparency and proactive mitigation strategies
- Control the SAP implementation budget
- Oversee training and change management to finance, IT and operational teams to ensure successful adoption of SAP Public Cloud and related integrations.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Solid experience managing end-to-end SAP Public Cloud implementations.
- Deep expertise in the following SAP Public Cloud modules: * SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting) * SAP Analytics Cloud (Planning & Reporting) * SAP Cash Management * SAP Budgeting and Planning * SAP Project Systems (PS) * SAP Procurement * SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Payroll, Performance & Goals Management) * SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for integration and functionalities extension
- Demonstrated capability in leading financial and HR process improvements, with a strong analytical background.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering SAP projects on time and within budget.
- Openness to travel within Portugal to support implementation efforts across different business units and company sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience managing SAP projects within the hospitality sector.
- Working knowledge of hospitality management systems and interfaces.
- Familiarity with CRM Salesforce, Oracle PMS and POS (Opera V5 and Opera Cloud and Simphony POS), and Microsoft Office suite.

- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Advanced skills in English (written and spoken).
