Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Manager - Master Planning to join our team! In this role you will get to work on an exciting new large scale masterplan development in Riyadh and lead multi disciplined teams on this project
What you will be doing
Responsible for development of planning projects including data collection and analysis; demographics and programming; land use suitability, analysis and plans; report writing; preparation of plans including master plans, structure plans, action plans, phasing and implementation plans, residential, commercial and industrial layout plans, design concepts and policy preparation.
Preparation of urban planning studies, and development plans and designs, including feasibility and land use assignments.
Assist the procurement team in preparation of RFPs, floating tenders, tender review and award recommendations
Prepare for and Chair design kick-off meetings
Prepare RACI matrices for design review and approval process
Assist the project controls team on Design workflow processes
Establish the design programme
Management of all Multidiscipline Design Consultants and review and approval of design stage gate submissions
support the Cost Consultant/Estimating team on stage gate Cost estimation and Budget preparation
Design change order Management, tracking and reporting
Assist the Project Controls team on EOT Claims arising from Design changes
Assist the Commercial team on validation of Design Variations and Abortive design quantum
Chairing Design meetings
Preparation of Various design progress presentations and presenting to the stakeholders
Leading Value Engineering exercises
Lead and report on design progress, External Stakeholder interfaces, submissions and approvals
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Urban/Regional Planning or related disciplines.
Minimum 12 years of relevant urban planning experience working on large scale Industrial and Community developments. This experience should be preferably with a consulting company dealing with Urban Planning and Development work. International experience, particularly in the Middle East preferred.
Strong background and experience in demographic survey, study and analysis is a must.
A deep understanding of the urban planning process and the latest trends and technologies
Knowledge and understanding of the analytical tools and techniques used in urban and regional planning, economics, architecture or related studies.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Outlook, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint).
Graphic capability in using computer software commonly used by Urban Designers and Architects is a plus
Experience in similar large scale mixed use master plan developments
Experienced on Autocad, Sketchup and other related software
