To lead and supervise the painting team in executing painting tasks according to quality standards, timelines, and safety protocols. The Team Leader ensures optimal use of resources, adherence to procedures, and continuous improvement in the painting process.
Requirements
Main Accountabilities
Plan and allocate daily tasks based on production schedules and project priorities.
Estimate required materials and man-hours for each task and ensure timely availability of paint supplies.
Mix and prepare paint according to specifications and ensure accurate color matching.
Perform and supervise surface preparation, priming, painting, and finishing tasks.
Conduct regular quality checks during and after each stage of painting; report and resolve any quality issues.
Ensure all necessary protective covers are in place before starting any paint or touch-up work.
Guide and inspect the work of painters and helpers, ensuring adherence to standards and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Train new team members on company policies, painting techniques, safety practices, and standard operating procedures.
Maintain cleanliness of the workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Promote and enforce HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines in the workshop and on-site.
Suggest improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and equipment performance.
Ensure team members follow standard operating procedures and Standard painting methods, set by the department to sustain the quality.
Implement and enforce 5S principles and Lean management techniques to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
Under the Company Safety Policy, the team leader has a responsibility to follow the above duties in a safe manner in accordance with the Safe Systems of Work and the procedures laid down under the health and safety environment (HSE).
Number of years of Experience:
4 to 6 years in managing painting activity
Education: secondary school
Languages:
English and Hindi
Systems:
Basic computer knowledge, Word, Excel
Technical & Functional Skills (Identify here the functionnal skills that apply to the specific job requirements as well as the required abilities to perform)
Detailed knowledge of paint application equipment, pretreatment systems, Paint shop productivity improvement practices, tools, and methods.
Ability to effectively anticipate, plan, and coordinate the activities of the Painters with the work load
Have experience with Color Identification, mixing paint & related components
Ensure that the crew always respect the health and safety standards, cleanliness on site and workshop, and ensure the quality of finishing.
Ensure that the team performs properly as per the relevant step of painting process.
Allocate jobs to the workers and explain the production methods and guide the team in production
Must have technical knowledge and knowledge of equipments used in painting job.

General Obligations towards Health, Safety and Environment
You will correctly use machinery, appliances, tools, transport, and all equipment issued by the company.
You will correctly use personal protective equipment supplied by the company.
You will not remove any safety devices for any machinery or installations.
You will perform all tasks set forth by safety and environmental regulations and thus cooperate with Electra to ensure a working environment and condition that do not pose any risks in terms of health, safety and environment to others.
