Job Description

We are looking for a Director Mergers & Acquisitions who is keen to play a pivotal part in our strategy for enabling fossil freedom and leading the energy transition.

As our Director Mergers & Acquisitions, you will lead a team of five M&A professionals and report to the Vice President of Merger & Acquisitions. You will become a member of the M&A Management Team.

In this role, you will effectively lead a team to meet M&A needs while achieving ambitious targets. The team interfaces with various stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will contribute to shaping the energy landscape of tomorrow, working in a professionally diverse environment with a wide range of contact points. You will play a crucial role in the further growth of Vattenfall's strategy and lead transactions related to renewable energy, heat, and nuclear energy. You will lead a multinational, engaged, and professional team.


Your Responsibilities
•    Coordinate the M&A strategy and planning process and its follow-up.
•    Lead transactions from the idea stage to final closing in all of Vattenfall's business areas.
•    Manage teams responsible for around 10-20 transactions simultaneously.
•    Coordinate small and large transactions with the necessary buy-in and resources from business areas and relevant staff functions.
•    Lead large transaction teams of up to 50 people, including legal, financial, technical, and commercial advisors.
•    Present transaction summaries and updates to decision-making bodies within Vattenfall.
•    Represent Vattenfall to banks and the investor community.

Location
The position is located in Stockholm, and the candidate must be willing to travel within Northern Europe.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Director M&A with a relevant university degree (or equivalent), at least seven years of relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position and/or in the renewable energy market. Preferably you have extensive experience as a leader in a large international organization and documented experience in managing (project) teams in changing and challenging environments. You are fluent in Swedish and your command of English is strong, both verbally and in writing.

•    Results-focused: You are performance and results-oriented.
•    People-centric: You are interested in leading business and developing people and teams.
