Director – Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Industrial Projects
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director to lead the planning, development, management, and expansion of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Industrial Park projects . The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SEZ operations, infrastructure project management, business development, and investment promotion. This role is crucial to positioning SEZ/Industrial Parks as leading destinations for multinational corporations, manufacturers, and logistics players across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Project Development
Lead the overall master planning, feasibility studies, and infrastructure development of SEZ and Industrial Park projects.
Identify new locations and business opportunities for expansion across Southeast Asia.
Oversee land acquisition, zoning, licensing, and regulatory approvals required for SEZ/industrial development.
Business Development and Investment Promotion
Develop and implement investment attraction strategies to bring in multinational tenants and investors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, investment promotion bodies, developers, and corporate partners.
Represent the SEZ/Industrial Park at trade shows, investment forums, and international business missions.
Operations and Infrastructure Management
Oversee infrastructure development activities such as utilities, transportation, logistics hubs, and facility management.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with local and international standards.
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance competitiveness and investor satisfaction.
Financial and Risk Management
Develop project budgets, financial models, and business plans to ensure profitability and sustainability.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with SEZ development, operations, and investments.
Leadership and Team Management
Build, lead, and mentor a cross-functional team comprising project managers, business development executives, technical staff, and external consultants.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Engineering, or a related field.MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
Experience:
At least 12–15 years of progressive experience in SEZ development, industrial park management, infrastructure projects, or investment promotion.
Proven leadership experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects across Southeast Asia.
Strong understanding of SEZ regulations, investment frameworks, incentive structures, and cross-border trade policies.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong business development, client management, and negotiation skills.
Deep network within government agencies, developers, investors, and corporate tenants in the region.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex infrastructure or real estate projects.
Highly strategic thinker with hands-on operational capabilities.
Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel regionally.
