Regional Compliance Officer, APAC

Reporting to the Head of Business Ethics Compliance, the Regional Compliance Officer will own the roll out of the global compliance program in all relevant APAC Markets, liaising with key stakeholders, in the commercial, finance and legal teams of the WSA organization, working to ensure compliance in all areas of a very diverse compliance landscape.
Support the global Compliance team in the drafting, reviewing, and implementing compliance policies and procedures throughout WSA group. Ensure regional and local implementation and supporting SOPs/procedures if needed.
What you will do
- Assist in developing and conducting compliance trainings and roll out and adapt in region APAC if needed. this includes supporting in developing global e-learning and spot training modules, and local modules when the need is identified
- Ensuring strong regional and local buy in to comply with global compliance frame ensuring IPO readiness
- Provide Support on compliance requests from the local and regional organizations
- Drive and complete regional risk assessment for region APAC and provide input Head of Business Ethics compliance on ERM process upon request
- Support in developing and implementing global KYC process in region APAC, ensuring compliance with global processes, adapted to local needs if required
- Conduct third-party risk assessments in line with global processes
- Carry out internal compliance audits, based on need and identified risks
- Act as regional lead investigator for APAC compliance related matters, ensuring full regional and local alignment and compliance with global policies and processes
- Working closely with the WSA Global Lead Investigator and partner closely with HR, Legal and Finance in relevant markets: Singapore, China, Japan, ANZ, Japan and Philippines.
What you bring
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field
- 8 years working experience with 5 years of solid experience in a regional business ethics compliance role
- Strong knowledge of international anti-corruption, anti-bribery, money laundering laws, trade sanctions, and export control regulations
- Experience managing third-party compliance and leading compliance audits
- Proven ability to lead investigations, manage confidential reporting systems, and maintain legal and ethical standards
- Familiar with APAC regulatory environments and cross-border compliance challenges

- Strong business acumen, problem solving skills and communications skills (both written and oral) with attention to detail, and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Highly strategic, forward-thinking and collaborative, while having strong execution focus
- Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
- Must be a role model and team player with top of class interpersonal skills and a commitment to relationship-building, collaboration and team empowering both internally and externally
- Global and inclusive perspective and track record from working across multiple cultures
- Fluency in English and at least one language of our major markets: Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese or Korean.
