What we are looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Waste, Recycling and Fleet Services Team based at our Stowmarket Operational Depot. 

We are looking for someone used to the commercial sector and preferably with a knowledge of the waste industry to join our team. To be successful, you will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.

 

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the growth, delivery, and implementation of a Commercial waste service within the districts of Mid Suffolk and Babergh.  This will include trade services, garden waste collection service and other service deliverables that generate income

We are looking for someone to build on our well established Commercial waste service to maintain the current momentum, promote our range of new services and challenge and look at different ways of growing the business. 

You will be expected to promote marketing and commercial initiatives that will enable the services to expand and grow in line with customer and business requirements and to continually investigate and source additional income streams that will generate income and improve services to existing customers.

You will need to work with the contractor to maintain and improve customer and service delivery levels and work with financial teams to ensure a cost effective pricing structure is in place with accurate billing, collection of fees and debt recovery if required.

 

About you

The successful candidate is likely to be educated to NVQ level 4/degree level or have gained equivalent knowledge through experience.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in a commercial environment, where it is important to be knowledgeable about the services offered, be confident on service delivery and be able to demonstrate an effective value for money service.

With strong business acumen, relationship building and negotiation skills, you will have a natural ability to get to know customers and to understand their requirements, providing a high level, solutions based service.

You will need good analytical/mathematical skills, working with colleagues in order to set prices and service standards.

A strong team player, you will be able to liaise effectively at all levels of the organisation and with external customers.

Experience of organising and producing promotional information for events and exhibitions would be extremely useful as it is vital to promote the services offered and receive feedback from customers.
