Secondary History Teacher
Description
San Marcos Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate full-time history teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position involves teaching history classes to Middle School (8th grade) and Upper School (9th grade) students. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity and foster a love for history in students.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans for Middle and Upper School history classes.
- Teach historical concepts, events, and perspectives using a variety of instructional strategies and primary sources.
- Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of historical events and their impact on the modern world.
- Assess student understanding through a range of formative and summative evaluations and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide learning goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Qualifications:
