 Description

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the facility and rooms operating, preventing and repairing any problems before or when they are discovered. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around the hotel. Some other tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include:

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing damage to windows, doors or walls
  • Repairing minor plumbing problems such as leaky faucets or toilets
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly environment for guests and team members by assisting with trash removal, carpet cleaning, moping and vacuuming
  • Providing support to the Maintenance Engineer as well as the Housekeeping Supervisor with daily tasks and major projects
  • Executing tasks within our Preventative Maintenance Program such as tightening fixtures, changing lightbulbs, managing electrical and phone cords, replacing batteries in remotes and smoke alarms, caulking around tubs and toilets, etc.
  • Responding with urgency to guest requests and maintenance tickets that impact the guest's experience
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting rooms and common areas as needed
  • Assisting with groundskeeping by picking up trash and debris from parking lot as well as watering the flowerbeds

 

Requirements

 RequirementsMaintenance Technician is an entry level position in which formal certifications are not required. However, we are looking for candidates that possess the following attributes:

  • Base-level Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems
  • Base-level Handy-man skills including painting, tools handling, etc.
  • Base-level of groundskeeping
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members with hospitality and care
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
  • Physical capability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs without assistance. The ability to be on foot for the majority of an 8-hour shift as well as bending at the hips, knees and ankles.

This position is a part time and the schedule will vary based on the hotel's business needs. We are looking for candidates that:

  • Have flexible availability, 2-4 days a week
  • Can work some evenings
  • Can work most weekends
