Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Information Resources Division.

This position is a member of our Information Resources Division.

 

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Oversee and manage section activities involved in the planning and direction of resources necessary to develop and support the agency’s information technology (IT) priorities, strategies, and goals.
  • Complete personnel management, administrative, and organizational functions, and ensure the professional development of section staff.
  • Lead the agency data visualization strategies and develop strategic alignment with statewide and agency data goals and objectives. Coordinate the development of agency governance, policies, outreach, and training in support of cross-functional data quality, reporting and visualization among multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and ensure section staff implements improved software engineering, requirements gathering, configuration management, testing, and quality assurance processes in compliance with existing agency and division policies, procedures, and priorities.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing and conducting personnel management functions: interviewing, hiring, preparing and administering performance appraisals.
  • Experience planning and/or assessing resource needs for IT related projects, including contract management for and/or participating in IT procurement activities.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle and managing to project timelines, milestones, and scope.
  • Experience communicating or coordinating with management, technical staff, and customers on projects, activities, and resource needs, including preparing reports and/or giving presentations.
  • Experience supervising or managing IT project teams.
 

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department relevant to assignment.

OR

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
