Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This position requires up to 25% travel and otherwise full-time in-office schedule at the TCEQ Austin Office.

This position is a member of our Water Quality Planning Division.

 

 

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING...

  • Provide consultative and technical support in the development, implementation, and administration of the Texas Clean Rivers Program (CRP) for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
  • Assist with coordination duties for the Clean Rivers Program, which includes negotiating and administering work plans and grant agreements; reviewing water quality monitoring data sets, quality assurance project plans, technical analysis reports, and other project deliverables to ensure they meet program guidance, work plan specifications, and quality assurance (QA) protocols; assist in site visits of program participants; and in promoting effective use of state and federal resources.
  • Participate in program planning, development, and implementation; assists in development of section(s) of the Clean Rivers Program guidance document; and assist in developing training materials.
  • Communicate with management and other agency staff regarding programmatic needs and activities; assist in responding to public inquiries and requests for information and water quality data; and communicate with contractors to clarify expectations and provide information.
 

Qualifications

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in project and/or contract management.
  • Experience writing, reviewing, interpreting, and/or summarizing technical documents.
  • Experience with quality assurance systems.
  • Experience in water quality data analysis and/or environmental statistics.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field. 

One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV series.
