The Environmental Services Operations Director is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of all functions of the Environmental Services to maintain a clean and safe medical center environment. Serves as lead technical expert in healthcare environmental services protocols and standards. Serve as executive liaison ensuring needs of the organization are effectively addressed in a timely manner. Ensures cohesion among the EVS teams to ensure requests and issues are addressed in a timely manner with closed loop communication to customers.
Will include interpretation and administration of all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements, including JCAHO, state, and federal and local regulations and guidelines (i.e. OSHA, HAZMAT, DOH, EPA); HR functions; and negotiation of contracts.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Business Management or other health-related field (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
5 years Hospital experience (Required)
3 years Acute care hospital management experience (Required)
2 years Supervision of staff in a Collective Bargaining Agreement (ie Union staff) (Required)
2 years Children’s hospital experience (Preferred)
1 year Experience in managing and negotiating external contracts. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge

Understanding of infection control requirements as they relate to Environmental Services functions.

Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) or Certificate of Mastery in Infection Prevention (CMIP) (Preferred)
