Student Assistant Space TA, Su25

Applicants MUST be a current student at DigiPen Institute of Technology to qualify for this position.

Job Title: Student Assistant Space TA, Su25

Reports to:  Chris Onorati

 

The Student Assistant Space TA, Su25 position includes assisting with the maintenance and usage of the labs for students in all project-based courses. Space TAs directly assist lab management staff, as well as the GAM, IT, Facilities, and Career Services departments on an as-needed basis.

 

Class or Shift Times:

One 4-hour shift or two 2-hour shifts on weekdays between 9:00AM – 7:00PM. Student can elect their own shift time. Shifts occur physically at the main campus building.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist IT and Lab Management Staff with minor technical issues.
  • Support students enrolled in GAM/PRJ classes with minor installation services.
  • Monitor multiple ticketing programs to identify and resolve student requests.
  • Support events that take place within the DigiPen labs (Edison, Tesla, The Wing).
  • Resolve minor interpersonal conflicts between teams.
  • Ensure all students have an effective work environment.
  • Communicate needs of students to Lab Management, Facilities, Student Affairs, and IT.
  • Escalate concerns to Lab Management staff (student safety, equipment safety, etc.)
  • Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked 

 

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Basic understanding of the Windows 10/11 operating systems.
  • Identify when a situation requires you to ask for help from superiors.
  • Willingness and desire to support students through in-person and digital communication.
  • Ability to be present at the Redmond campus an average of 4 hours weekly in a support position.

 

Experience

  • Ideal candidates will have acted before in a leadership position (such as a GAM team Producer, GAM team Creative Director, GAM team Technical Director, a separate TA/Tutor position, etc.).
  • Ideal candidates will be familiar with the location of the approved software list and DigiPen font library

 

Expected dates of employment:    May 12 – August 29, 2025

Expected number of hours per week:   3 - 5

Wage Range:

$16.66 - 17.75 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen

Working Conditions:

Student workers are expected to perform their duties on campus weekly. Tasks may include moving around computers and equipment which may weigh up to 20 pounds.

 

 

DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements:

  • Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology
  • Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher

Requirement Exceptions:

It is possible to still be selected for a position with DigiPen if you do not meet the requirements above, so don't let that dissuade you from applying!
