Position Summary
The Human Resources Business Intelligence Team is charged with supporting the MassDOT leadership team by providing timely access to accurate, relevant, and digestible data. The HR Business Intelligence Co-Op will contribute to this mission by conducting analysis that advances data-driven decision-making in the organization. The Co-op will be exposed to a wide range of data and a variety of analytic techniques. Through projects, they will gain experience in the entire analytic process, including planning and understanding the business need, gathering, and preparing data, conducting analysis, documenting their work, and communicating what they learn. Further, the Co-Op will have the opportunity to assist the team with automation of their reports and contribute to the overall efficiency of the work unit by improving processes within HRBI.

By the end of the Co-Op, the successful candidate will complete at least two end-to-end data analysis projects as well as gaining experience in the day-to-day functioning of an HR analytics team. They will have a strong sense of how data can be used to understand and strengthen an organization’s workforce and will have demonstrated experience learning to utilize new systems and technologies.
