Sourcing & Contracts Manager
The Sourcing and Contracts Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a high-performing sourcing team to optimise resource utilisation, ensuring productivity and making a positive contribution to the Company’s Profit & Loss (P&L). The role involves overseeing the execution of the Annual Contracting Plan (“ACP”), ensuring commitments are met, and facilitating the timely updating and sign-off of Category Plans by the Procurement Manager.
In addition to driving continuous improvement in the sourcing process, the manager will focus on maintaining strong supplier relationships and contributing to overall business goals. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Category Management: Developing and implementing category strategies, analysing market trends, and selecting, in conjunction with end users, suppliers to deliver optimal outcomes for the business.
- Governance: Ensuring adherence during the sourcing process to all Company and Group Policies.
- Contracting: Leading the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives, legal requirements, and best practices.
- Supplier Management: Managing supplier relationships, monitoring performance, and resolving issues to ensure long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Negotiation: Utilising advanced negotiation skills to secure favourable contract terms, pricing, and supplier relationships.
- Influencing Skills: Influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels to drive results in a collaborative and positive manner.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrating a strong understanding of business drivers, financial metrics, and aligning sourcing strategies with overall business goals.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Guiding and supporting team members to achieve professional growth and enhance overall team performance.
This role is crucial in ensuring that the sourcing function effectively contributes to the organisation’s strategic objectives and delivers measurable business value.
Professional Qualification and Certifications: Business related Degree, Law or Engineering
Work Experience: 10 years in the Category Management and in the SCM Function
Knowledge and skills: Category Management, Contracting, Supplier management, Negotiation, Influencing skills, Business acumen and coaching and mentoring
